CrowdStrike was founded by George Kurtz, Dmitri Alperovitch, and Gregg Marston. The company provides cybersecurity and threat intelligence services to both the public sector and private organizations. The current value of CrowdStrike is more than 80 billion dollars.
Meaning and history
Founded in Silicon Valley in 2011, already in 2017 CrowdStrike reached a capitalization of $1 billion, showing seven classic unicorn startups. The capabilities of the CrowdStrike platform have been repeatedly recognized by global rating agencies such as IDC, Gartner, and Forrester Wave.
With CrowdStrike’s technologies, customers get a single-agent platform for hacking prevention, fileless attacks, ransomware protection, and other cyberattacks. Falcon, its flagship product, is a cybersecurity platform that protects endpoints on a network using a cloud-based architecture. It can also detect and respond to intrusions on a system or a specific endpoint. This is any physical device connected to the network, including servers and laptops.
Since its founding in 2011, this Texas-based company has been involved in investigations of major cyberattacks, such as the 2014 Sony Pictures hack and the 2015 and 2016 cyberattacks on the Democratic National Committee.
According to the CrowdStrike official website, the company serves about 30 thousand customers, more than 500 of whom are from the Fortune 1000 list.
What is CrowdStrike?
CrowdStrike is the name of a company, considered to be a global leader in cybersecurity. The company was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas. CrowdStrike offers cloud workload protection, endpoint protection, threat intelligence, and cyberattack response.
As for the company’s logo, it perfectly depicts the stages of the CrowdStrike development, and its progress not only in cybersecurity technologies and innovations but also in the design of its visual identity and its positioning on the market.
2011 – 2013
The original CrowdStrike logo, designed in 2011, was too ornate compared to the current version. It was a glossy gradient silver lettering in a slanted and extended sans-serif typeface, written on the right from the detailed emblem depicting a falcon, the symbol of the company, which also gave the name to its most popular product, the Falcon platform.
2013 – 2020
In 2013 the logo of the CrowdStrike company was redesigned in a more modern and flat manner. The name of the brand was now written in the uppercase of a geometric sans-serif typeface, in plain black, with the first part of the name set in thin lines, and the second — in thick. As for the emblem, it was also redrawn, with the circular outline removed, and the bird set in black and red.
2020 – Today
The redesign of 2020 has simplified the CrowdStrike logo concept even more. The color palette of the badge is now red-on-white, and the lettering is set in one style — the uppercase geometric sans-serif with thick bars, distinctive contours, and straight cuts. The emblem of the company was completely rethought. The bird was replaced by two thin smooth lines, which diagonally overlap the bottom left corner of the wordmark.
Font and color
The bold uppercase lettering from the primary logo of CrowdStrike is set in a modern geometric sans-serif typeface, which looks pretty close to such commercial fonts as Conneqt, Rebelton, or Rustica, but with the shape of the first “R” in the inscription similar to Isidore Sans.
As for the color palette of CrowdStrike visual identity, it is based on a bright shade of red, which usually stands for power, professionalism, and determination.
