Cobalt Air is an airline founded by Andrew Pyne in 2015. Based in Cyprus, it quickly gained recognition for its exceptional service and modern fleet. Cobalt Air expanded its route network to include popular destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, attracting a growing number of passengers.

The airline achieved several notable milestones during its operation. In 2017, Cobalt Air received the “Best Low-Cost Airline” award at the Airline Excellence Awards. The following year, it became a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), further solidifying its position in the industry.

However, despite its initial success, Cobalt Air faced financial challenges in 2018, leading to its temporary suspension of operations. Efforts were made to secure additional funding, but unfortunately, the airline was unable to overcome its financial difficulties and ceased operations in October 2018.

Today, Cobalt Air remains inactive, leaving a void in Cyprus’s aviation market. The company’s brief tenure showcased its commitment to providing high-quality service, but its closure serves as a reminder of the competitive and challenging nature of the airline industry.
