The athletic program of the Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University includes around 15 varsity sports teams playing under the names of the Alabama A&M Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs.

Meaning and history

While the primary logo is quite intricate, it lacks the emotional charge of the secondary logo.

The primary Alabama A&M Bulldogs logo, which was adopted in 2000, features the initials of the name of the university. On the forefront, the letter “A” can be seen. In the white triangle inside the large “A,” a smaller “A” is placed. The white field below the horizontal bar of the large “A” houses the letter “M.” Eventually, on the background, you can see the letter “U.”

Most of the serifs are rounded, and as a result, the logo adopts a smooth curvy theme. Due to this, it doesn’t look rigid or official in spite of the fact that it’s a purely typographic logo.

And yet, if we compare it to the school’s secondary logo depicting a bulldog, we’ll immediately feel the latter has more life and emotions to it.

Football

The team competing in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision was founded in 1912.
