The very first logo of the Air Madagascar company, designed in 1962, boasted minimalistic black lettering in the uppercase of an italicized geometric sans-serif typeface, written against a transparent background and enclosed between two thin red horizontal lines. This laconic version of the logo stayed with the air carrier for almost ten years.

1972 – 1987

The redesign of 1972 has kept the minimalistic approach to the Air Madagascar logo design, yet changed its style. Now the inscription was written in bold red capitals of a slightly narrowed sans-serif typeface and placed against a white background without any additional framing.

1988 – 2001

In 1988 the Air Madagascar logo became more complex and ornate. Now the concept is built on the combination of an emblem and a lettering. The emblem depicts a stylized peacock tail in a smooth sea-green shade, while the uppercase inscription In red is executed in a modern geometric font with angular contours and straight cuts of the bars.

2004 – 2023

The redesign of 2004 has redrawn the peacock emblem in burgundy, added a smooth body to a fancy tail, and placed the new element in the left part of the composition. The lettering, which was set on its right, got rewritten in the title case of an elegant sans-serif font, using a bright grass-green color, creating a vivid and intense image.
