Meaning and history

Star Alliance Logo history

The Star Alliance logo was created by the Pentagram design studio. The emblem consists of the wordmark and a star made up of five pyramids. The pyramids are depicted as seen from the top. The grey gradient helps to reproduce the shades and create the 3D effect. Each of the pyramids represents one of the five founding airlines.

The name of the alliance can be seen to the left. It features a pretty generic sans serif typeface. The glyphs have classic proportions and structure.Star Alliance Logo

You can also come across a version of the Star Alliance logo comprising the tagline “The way the Earth connects.” It is positioned below the words “Star Alliance” and features the same type. The size of the letters is much smaller, though, due to which they are less legible.
