Skymark Airlines is a Japanese airline founded by Shinichi Nishikubo in 1996. The airline has achieved several milestones since its inception, including expanding its domestic flight network and introducing low-cost services to attract more passengers. Skymark Airlines became the first Japanese carrier to operate the Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft, in 2014. However, due to financial challenges, the airline had to cancel its A380 orders and restructure its operations. As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, Skymark Airlines was focused on operating domestic flights within Japan and had plans to introduce new routes and expand its fleet in the future. Please note that the current status of the airline may have changed since then.
