1979 – 1992

San Diego Toreros Logo 1979

The very first logo of San Diego Toreros was designed in 1979 and depicted a stylized toreador in an ornate blue and white outfit. The man was holding a solid blue banner with the white handwritten “Toreros” lettering on it. This version of the logo was used by the team for more than a decade.

1992 – 2000

The matador character has been the centerpiece of the San Diego Toreros logo since at least 1992. The logo introduced that year featured the matador standing with his head turned down. We cannot see his face at all as the head is turned away from us.

2000 – 2006

On the current version of the logo (2006), we also see the matador but his position is different.

2016 – Today

The redesign of 2016 has significantly simplified the composition of the San Diego Toreros logo. All the graphical elements were removed from the badge, and only a stylized massive “SD” abbreviation was left. The bold and elegant characters are written in white and outlined in two shades of blue.
