Meaning and history
If you want to find a really distinctive and memorable athletic emblem, the Richmond Spiders logo can be a possible choice. It is just a spider. No typography, no additional details, only the body and the paws of the insect that many people find totally disgusting. To make things worse, the paws have a pretty realistic outline.
The official palette of the university’s athletic program includes only two colors, red and blue. The current logo is given in red over the white background.
