1997 – 2002
The original logo of Hokkaido Air System was created in 1997, and stayed with the company for five years. It was a dark blue lettering with the massive “HAC” abbreviation underlined by the complete name of the company in Japanese. The wordmark was placed on the right from a funny playful emblem, drawn in a light shade of blue and depicting a caricature of a plane.
2002 – 2011
The redesign of 2002 has introduced a strong minimalistic emblem, which looked very confident and professional. The “HAC” abbreviation was rewritten in black, using a modern sans-serif typeface with the removed horizontal bar of the “A”. Instead of that, the “A” was overlapped by a vertical three-dimensional stroke in silver and red.
2011 – 2014
In 2011 the abbreviation was rewritten in a bright shade of green, with a new handwritten cursive typeface, where the lines of the letters were cut Stuart and the contours being distinctive and sharp. This version of the logo stayed active for three years.
2014 – now
The redesign of 2014 has introduced a new logo for the company , with the bold black lettering set on the left from a red emblem. The emblem depicted a stylized bird with its wings making up a circular medallion. The white “JAL” lettering is set on the bottom red part of the emblem.
