Experian is the name of the banking and credit company from the United Kingdom, which was established in 1996 in Ireland and today operates all over the globe, collecting information and providing consulting services to millions of physical and corporate clients on all continents.
Meaning and history
Experian is a company, that was established at the end of the last century, and is considered to be pretty young in the financial segment. Despite its young age, the company has already undergone two major redesigns of the visual identity, but all three logo versions of the brand were executed in one color palette, blue and fuchsia pink, which is not very usual for the sphere. And this is what makes the Experian emblem stand out in the list of its competitors.
1996 – 2009
The very first logo of the company was created in 1996 and stayed untouched for more than a decade. It was a lowercase calm blue inscription in a very bold yet sophisticated serif typeface, with its letters written with thick smooth lines, decorated by thin and elongated serifs in the ends. The only bright element of the logo was a dark fuchsia diagonal line, placed above the letter “I”, instead of the dot. The elongated line looked sharp and added a strong character to the whole logo, being the company’s signifier.
2009 – 2016
The redesign of 2009 completely changed the style and structure of the Experian logo, even though the blue and pink color palette was kept. The two iconic colors were elevated and made brighter, though the mood they were bringing was the same as in the previous version. The new badge featured a title-case wordmark in a medium-weight and slightly narrowed sans-serif font with neat and clean contours and lines. The inscription was set on the right from the emblem, formed by numerous solid squares with softened angles. The main theme was composed of twelve blue elements, which were bigger than eleven more pink and blue square dots placed all around it.
2016 – Today
The colors of the logo became lighter and more tender in 2016. The shape and style of the emblem remained untouched, as wee as the inscription, though one important detail was added to the visual identity of the company — a lightweight tagline, consisting of the Experian motto “A world of insight”. The additional lettering is executed in the same shade of blue and the same typeface as the main logotype.
