1987 – 2011

The logo, designed for the Canadian air carrier in 1987, has stayed in use by the company for two decades. It was a very confident geometric lettering in white, set on a sky-blue background and decorated by a thick red horizontal line at the bottom. The most interesting element of the badge was its typeface, with massive angular letters featuring triangular stencils.

The logo, created for Air Transat in 2011, was composed of a stylized contoured five-pointed star in medium-blue, set on the left from the bold lowercase wordmark, executed in a modern sans-serif font, with stencils, which resemble the original version of the air carrier’s logo.

2011 – now

A few months later the logo was slightly refined, with the star getting larger, and the “Air” part rewritten in the title case of a geometric sans-serif font, above the bold “Transat”. The top line of the inscription is now executed in the same shade as the star emblem, while the bottom one — is in dark blue.
