The logo of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) has gone through only a couple of modifications during the last two decades. And yet, the alterations have been pretty subtle and did not affect the overall structure of the emblem.
Meaning and history
The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference logo is dominated by the large white abbreviation “SCAC.” The letters are tall and thin. Moreover, the width of the line varies, like in a classic script. While this looks rather elegant, it also damages legibility as the white thin letters seem to get lost in the dark blue background.
The old logo gave the name of the conference over the white background, while the current one features the grey background.
