The logo is quite basic, yet it has a unique element. The full name is printed in three lines, which are adjusted to the left. It is done in all caps and features a sans-serif typeface with clean lines. An extra-large “N” is placed above the name and tilted to the left, giving the logo a memorable look. The whole logo is done in a dark gray color, which gives it a formal appearance. This logo was designed by Jim Sutherland of Studio Sutherland.

The updated logo looks modern and quite unusual. Thanks to North Designer and its alumni, the institution got a custom logo where each word looked different. Jonathan Leonard had the first name formed from solid black circles. The next word is done from crosses, while the rest are formed from stripes, rhombs, and crosses.

Font and Color

Norwich University of the Arts Emblem

Before 2023, the logo uses a clean, sans-serif font with a characteristic “R” leg that can be replicated using HelveticaNeueLTPro-Md font. In 2023, it switched to a custom and artistic typeface. It was a bold, sans-serif font that has circles, crosses, lines, and rhombs instead of solid filling. The base can be replicated using font such as Aristotelica Pro Text Condensed Bold and Zippy Gothic Black. Officially, though, the font is known as Exchange.

The yellow color, which was introduced in 2023, is quite symbolic for the university. This color became a symbol of the city since the yellow canaries were brought to it by master weavers (Strangers) when they were fleeing persecution in the Low Countries.
