The Motor City Bowl was a post-season college football bowl game held each year from 1998 to 2008. During its first five years, the bowl game was played at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan, before being relocated to the Ford Field in downtown Detroit, Michigan.

The automotive theme was pretty obvious in the Motor City Bowl logo. While on many other football bowl logos, a football is the most prominent object, here, a car wheel was most visible. Next to it, you could see a number of red lines of different heights and widths, which added some motion. The palette combined bright red with dark blue over the white background.
