Mac Miller was one of the most promising hip-hop singers of the 2010s, a guy with a tragic biography. He started composing tracks at the age of 14, and by the age of 26, he had five albums, all of which reached the top 4 of the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.

Mac Miller’s real name is Malcolm James McCormick. He was born January 19, 1992, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of architect Mark McCormick and photographer Karen Myers. His father was a Christian and his mother a Jew, and the boy was raised according to Jewish rules: he underwent a bar mitzvah and endured the Ten Days of Repentance annually. Miller called himself “the coolest Jewish rapper”.

In 2013, Mac Miller founded the label “REMember Music,” named in memory of his fallen friend. The first recordings under the label were Vince Staples’ mixtapes “Odd Future” and “Stolen Youth”. In January 2014, Mac Miller terminated his contract with Rostrum Records, and in October, REMember Music entered into an agreement with Warner Bros. Records” for $10 million.
