Meaning and history

On the Little East Conference logo, a brown football turns into a gold one and adopts glamorous highlights. The noble feel provided by the muted golden hues is not spoiled by the addition of dark blue. On the contrary, the blue adds some depth and contrast making the gold look more refined.

The type used for the abbreviation “LEC” has a subtle retro feel, which can be partly explained by the serifs.
