The 2019 Frisco Bowl logo is dominated by a very dark and somewhat grayish shade of blue paired with orange, white, and subtle yellow accents.
The logo forms a shield shape. Its top field houses the text “Tropical Smoothie Café,” while the words “Frisco Bowl” come on the orange banner below. You can also see a white star, which has a seam resembling that on a football.
Meaning and history
Frisco Bowl is a successor of the Miami Beach Bowl, the college football game, which was established in 2014 and sold to ESPN in 2017, with the relocation to Texas. The first Frisco Bowl game took place in 2017 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, and since then doesn’t change its location. The game is affiliated with the first division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and is one of the most popular post-season college bowl games.
What is Frisco Bowl?
Frisco Bowl is an intercollegiate football bowl game, which is affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association and only holds postseason football games. The Bowl had its first game played in 2017, and today holds all championships on the Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
2017 – 2018
The Frisco Bowl was first played in 2017. Today, it is called the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl. The post-season Division I FBS college football game has been sanctioned by NCAA.
2019 – 2021
The redesign of 2019 kept the crest shape of the logo and dark blue as its main color, but added orange shades to the palette, and replaced the logotype of the Bowl’s sponsor. The new crest is outlined in light and dark orange; with the “Frisco Bowl” Banner also set in orange and moved a bit down on the crest. The upper part of the blue background was complemented by a three-leveled “Tropical Smoothie Cafe” in narrowed white letters with some thin orange horizontal lines. As for the white five-pointed star with blue stitches, it was still there, placed at the bottom of the crest and slightly overlapping the orange banner with the logotype.
2022 – Today
With the redesign of 2022, the Frisco Bowl logo came back to its original style and color palette, but with several modifications. First of all, the name of the sponsor was removed. Secondly, the shades of both blue and red became smoother and one tone lighter. Thirdly, all elements were drawn flatly, with all the gray shadows removed. The new logo looks very simple yet stylish and contemporary.
