Barracuda Networks is an American network security company, which was established in 2003 by Dean Drako. The company is known for its hacker protection systems as well as web and spam filters.
Meaning and history
Barracuda Networks, a provider of security, networking, and storage products based on network appliances and cloud services, was founded in 2002, in California, USA. Barracuda Networks released its first anti-spam hardware and software solution a few months later, in 2003.
Barracuda had a very fast and confident start. Thus, in 2006, the founders of the company managed to attract investments of $40 million from venture funds Francisco Partners and Sequoia Capital, which once financed such giants as Cisco Systems, Google, and Yahoo!

Barracuda Networks’ visual identity is laconic and elegant. The logo is composed of a fine wordmark with an emblem on its left.
Executed in a sans-serif typeface, the Barracuda nameplate features a unique silhouette of the letters “A”, which makes the inscription recognizable and shows the individuality of the company.
The brand’s emblem is composed of two soft genes and curves triangles of different sizes, executed in blue with the black thin outline. It is a reflection of the brand’s “marine” name and is an elegant accompaniment to the modest wordmark.
The left apart of the emblem is small and thin, while the right one is massive and bold, inclined to the right, like pointing into the future and showing the company’s progressive approach.
