Based in State College, Pennsylvania, the minor league baseball team State College Spikes plays in the New York–Penn League at the Short-Season A level.
The history of the team started in 1958 in Auburn, New York. Initially, it was an affiliate of the New York Yankees. It has changed affiliations more than once until in 2013 it became an affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The current name was adopted in 2006.
The State College Spikes logo depicts a young white-tailed deer leaping over the word “Spikes” given in an unusual decorative script. The words “State College” are given on a red ribbon.
The cap insignia features a deer’s horn with a red ribbon. Another secondary logo showcases a deer’s muzzle with a fierce look on it.
The main colors of the State College Spikes logo are navy blue, cardinal, old gold, and yellow, while white is used for the background.
