The tropic beauty of Southern California has apparently been the main source of inspiration for the design team that worked on the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference logo.
Meaning and history
The top of the emblem features the rising sun in a clear shade of yellow. From both sides, rows of palm trees can be seen. There are four palm trees in each of the rows. The difference in height creates an illusion of depth and gives the impression you are moving along the road in the direction of the rising sun.
Below, the italicized abbreviation “SCIAC” can be seen. The letters are blue with black trim. The full name of the organization is broken down in two lines placed above and below the abbreviation.
