Rajasthan Royals players are immensely proud to wear this uniform.
What are Rajasthan Royals?
Rajasthan Royals is the name of a professional Indian cricket club, which was established in 2008, as one of the 8 Indian Premier League teams. Today it is one of the strongest and most promising clubs in the IPL. The Rajasthan Royals won the league’s championship in 2008.
In terms of visual identity, Rajasthan Royals are super sleek and elegant. The team has its logo executed in quite an unusual for the sports industry color palette, with the traditional heraldic elements accompanied by fancy serif lettering.
2008
The original Rajasthan Royals logo, created in 2008, was only used by the team for their first season in the Indian Premier League. It was a horizontally oriented oval medallion, divided into blue and golden segments, with the two golden rampant lions blowing the horns, set on the sides of the blue fragment, enclosing a classy RR monogram with the crown on top and the golden “Rajasthan” lettering. The gold part of the logo contained the blue serif “Royals” wordmark.
2009 – 2015, 2018
In 2009 the Royals logo was refined, becoming more distinctive and balanced. The oval turned into a roundel, with a solid blue background and a delicate gold outline. The lions on the sides remained untouched, while the RR monogram was enlarged and the crown was removed from the composition. As for the lettering, it was set on the bottom of the logo in elegant gold capitals. The same logo was used by the team for a season after the comeback in 2018.
2019 – Today
A new color palette was adopted for the Rajasthan Royals logo in 2019. It was connected to the social position the club has — helping local women. So the new badge of the Royals is set in bright pink, with all elements placed on a plain white background. The lions were erased, and the crown came back to the logo, placed above the enlarged RR monogram and accompanied by a two-leveled tagline in a sophisticated serif typeface.
Font and color
The fine and classy lettering from the official Rajasthan Royals logo is set in the uppercase of an elegant serif typeface, which is the famous Trajan font. As for the two capital letters of the monogram, they are written in a custom designer cursive, with the mirrored capital characters sharing one vertical bar.
As for the color palette of the Rajasthan Royals, it is based on a bright shade of pink, which for the digital logo is accompanied by white, and for the primary uniform of the team’s players — by bright blue and white.
