Meaning and History

Two renowned American food companies merged to become the Kraft Heinz corporation. Both businesses were founded in the US more than a century ago. Henry John Heinz established Heinz in 1876. In 1909, James L. Kraft founded Kraft as a door-to-door cheese vendor. In 2013, Berkshire Hathaway initiated the merger by claiming significant ownership in the Heinz Company.
