Hulk is the name of a superhero, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby for Marvel in 1962. The green humanoid is a part of the Avengers team and is considered to be one of the most recognizable superheroes ever created.
The Hulk is a Marvel Comics character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The first appearance of this superhero dates back to May 1962 in the comic book The Incredible Hulk.
The character’s story is based on the genius scientist-physicist Bruce Benner, who was engaged in the development of the “gamma bomb”. So, in the development of the bomb, the scientist received the strongest dose of exposure to gamma rays, after which his life was no longer the same. Although, outwardly, there were no changes to the hero, but one very surprising ability: when the hero was too angry or panicked, he turned into a green, incredibly powerful creature.
The Hulk is one of those rare characters who has become one of Marvel’s most popular heroes since his inception and went on to make numerous appearances on the big screen and television.
The image of the Hulk was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the main authors of the Marvel Universe. And, strangely enough, Hulk originally had a gray skin color, instead of the usual green. However, Stan Lee later decided to add color to the comic and made the Hulk’s skin green. During the reprinting of the first issues of The Incredible Hulk, the hero was even repainted from gray to green.
Being one of the most popular superheroes in the world due to its color and extraordinary strength, Hulk boasts an emblem, which reflects all his unique traits. However, apart from the emblem, this superhero has a more modern text-based logo.
The Hulk logo, designed in 2003 for the Hulk movie, directed by Ang Lee, is as primitive as the hero’s childish mind, in terms of composition, and as powerful and brutal as his physical qualities in terms of style. The badge features just one element — a massive three-dimensional wordmark executed in a geometric sans-serif typeface with cubic characters, drawn in glossy green-to-black gradients with the lightest accents on the top parts of the two middle letters.
The emblem depicts a clenched fist, enclosed into a circular frame. There are two versions of the Hulk badge — with the fist placed vertically, and horizontally, pointing right.
As for the color palette of the Hulk logo, it also features two variants — green fist on white background, or on a black one.
Green extra-bold lettering of “The Incredible Hulk” nameplate is placed under the emblem and feature a thin black outline. Drawn in a custom sans-serif typeface, the wordmark boasts strong straight lines, which perfectly balance the lines of the em-blem.
