1968 – 1982

The Virginia Commonwealth Rams logo, used by the program in the 1970s, featured a drawing of a white ram with golden horns, drawn diagonally in a leap, with the golden ribbon coming out of its horns to the right. The ribbon has a white outlined “VCU” lettering in it, executed in a classy and elegant serif font.

1982 – 1989

The redesign of 1982introduced a different style of the VCU Rams logo. This time it was a drawing of a ram’s head. The animal was depicted in white, with a black outline, and two enlarged yellow horns. The image had no accompanying elements and was placed on a plain transparent background.

1989 – 2003

The university used a logo where the ram was depicted over the large black “V” with yellow trim.

The logo, used by the Virginia Commonwealth Rams in the 1990s, featured a modern abstract t composition, based on an enlarged geometric letter “V” in solid black with a thick yellow outline, and a white silhouette of a ram, overlapping the character, and drawn in profile, facing to the right.

2003 – 2014

You could see the side view of the ram’s head with the letters “VCU RAMS” going along the back.

2014 – Today

The current mark was introduced in 2014. Here, you can see the large white letters “V,” “C,” and “U” with black and yellow trim. The end of the “V” is curved in such a way that it looks like a ram’s horn.
