Although the Tri-City ValleyCats are affiliated with the Houston Astros, the teams’ logos don’t reflect this connection.
While the history of the Tri-City ValleyCats officially started in 2002, the team actually traces its roots to 1977. Its original name the Little Falls Mets was replaced by the Pittsfield Mets in 1989, then by Pittsfield Astros in 2001 and eventually by the current one.
The Tri-City ValleyCats logo showcases an anthropomorphized cat holding a baseball bat in its paws. It’s one of the team’s mascots, called Southpaw. He is depicted above black firs on the dark green background, and there’s also the team script in red below.
The cap insignia depicts Southpaw’s muzzle over interlocking “C” and “V.” There’s also an alternative emblem depicting Southpaw’s head without any additional elements.
The palette is somewhat complex. In addition to scarlet, black, tan, silver, and green, it also comprises black and white.
