The Quakes, a MiLB team, started playing in Rancho Cucamonga, California in 1993, but the franchise’s history goes back to 1966 when they were known as the Crushers and were based in Lodi, California. Over its lifespan the team has gone through a number of ownership changes as well as renaming and relocations.
The name “Quakes” was suggested by fans, and it turned out to be fitting as their ballpark is located close to earthquake fault lines.
The 1993 logo incorporates a stylized wordmark “Quakes” in blue and black with a white fringing. It features an “earthquake fault line” across it. “RANCHO CUCAMONGA” in black capital letters is above and “PROFESSIONAL BASBALL CLUB” is positioned below.
The logo has a professional look, though it seems a bit distressing.
