What is North Texas Mean Green?
The North Texas Mean Green stands as the athletic embodiment of the University of North Texas, competing valiantly in NCAA Division I sports. This identity encapsulates the university’s athletic ethos, marked by robustness and relentless determination, across various intercollegiate sports.
In 1968, the North Texas Mean Green logo in green and white was introduced. The abstract symbol it featured bore a striking resemblance with the swastika.
In 1995, a totally different emblem was unveiled. Here, you could see an eagle in flight with the old name of the team written across its body.
While the eagle has remained on the current version, which was introduced in 2005, it now looks pretty abstract.
