The 1956 design depicts a cartoonish rooster, colored red and white. It’s depicted in an aggressive, combative pose.

1972 – 1976


The 1972 logo depicts a much more realistic image of a rooster. It’s still exaggerated but not to a point of being grotesque. The color is mostly dark red with some white.

1976 – 2002

Both the previous Jacksonville State Gamecocks logo and the current one feature their mascot, Cocky the Gamecock. On the 1998 emblem, the bird is red with white feathers on its neck.

2002 – Today

On the 2006 version, the gamecock is given from a different angle – the creature looks as if he was rushing towards you. The bird is placed inside a red ellipse housing the text “Jacksonville State,” while the word “Gamecocks” can be seen on the forefront of the Jacksonville State Gamecocks logo.
