What is ZZ Top?
ZZ Top is an American rock band. Known for their blues-infused rock sound, ZZ Top has become one of the most famous rock bands in history. It is particularly noted for their distinctive style, which features Gibbons’ sharp guitar work, Hill’s steady basslines, and Beard’s solid drumming.

1983 – 1990

This striking logo was first featured on the Eliminator album, the band’s eighth album. It should be noted that the album turned out to be ZZ Top’s biggest hit and controversial record by far. The emblem consists of the band’s name done in metallic golden with shades of brown, orange, and yellow. The characters have a three-dimensional appearance and thin edging as a decorative element. The two “Z”s are stacked one on top of the other in such a way that the one behind is positioned slightly lower and to the right. The word “Top” is placed on top of the extended horizontal line of the “Z”.

1990

The new design, which has a design very similar to the one created in 1983, features the name with a metalic ring behind it. The ring has three-dimensional wedges around its perimeter, which enhances the 3D appearance of the logo. The name design has barely changed. The designer switched the second “Z” to be placed in the front and also placed the name on a slight diagonal. The golden was replaced by metallic silver color. The overall image has lots of dynamics and bold, daring feel that goes well with ZZ Top music and their energetic and engaging performances.

Font and Color

A golden color palette in music can be rich and multifaceted. It can represent the excellence and accomplishments of the band. It later switched to another metallic color, the silver. This is a more modern color choice that is often associated with wealth, glamour, and even good luck.

For the efont, the band chose a custom sans-serif font. It has bold, geometric lines that create a striking and memorable image. The letters are italicized to reflect the dynamic nature of the music.
