In the 1981-1992 emblem, the penguin was depicted in full height inside a red circle.

1993 – 2005


The Youngstown State Penguins Logo from 1993 stayed with the club for a decade and was bright, funny, and instantly recognizable. It was a drawing of a serious caricature penguin looking at you with a bit of aggression. The club’s mascot was wearing a Ted and white hat and a white scarf, showing the team colors of the club. The bold Ted uppercase lettering was set on the right from the image and featured a thin white outline, which made the logotype more visible on a solid black background.

2006 – Today

The current Youngstown State Penguins logo showcases a large block serif “Y” in red with white and black trim. The glyph looks somewhat flat due to the short and wide serifs. In this form, the emblem has been used since 2006.
