At least over the last four decades, the Wagner Seahawks logo has been focused on the bird theme, which seems pretty natural keeping in mind the Seahawks nickname.
Wagner Seahawks, an athletic program, consisting of 23 sports teams, represents Wagner College, a private educational institution, established in New York City in 1883. This liberal arts college is pretty small — with just 2,2 thousand students, although its athletic program is considered strong enough.
Wagner Seahawks are members of the Northeast Conference, with the water polo clubs being parts of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (women), and Collegiate Water Polo Association (men).
What is Wagner Seahawks?
Wagner Seahawks is the name of an athletic program, representing Wagner college, and composed of 23 men’s and women’s teams, competing in various sports disciplines, including Baseball, Basketball, Golf, Tennis, and many others. The program is affiliated with the first division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
The Wagner Seahawks logo, designed in 1981, featured just one element — a solid green seahawk, depicted in a flight and getting ready to attack. The bird was decorated with some bold and smooth white lines, which made the image more readable and added light to the composition. The green hawk was drawn on its own, with no additional lettering or framing.
The current logo features the side view of a hawk’s head in white with dark green trim. In the full version of the emblem, below the picture, you can see the double-lined wordmark. The word “Wagner” is given in larger white letters with green trim, while the word “Seahawks” is smaller and features green letters. The text is italicized, which adds some dynamism.
