2004 – 2007

The Virgin America logo from 2004 was composed of a lowercase inscription with the full name of the company, and a small but bright emblem on its right. The lettering was set in a cool sans-serif typeface with sharp elements and was written in a dark shade of purple, while the emblem featured a traditional Virgin, red and white palette.

2007 – 2013

The redesign of 2007 has changed the composition of the air carrier’s logo, placing the emblem on the left, and following it with just the “America” wordmark. The emblem was enlarged and redrawn with some gradients, which made it look voluminous, while the lettering was rewritten in dark red, yet the typeface remained the same.

2013 – 2018

In 2013 the emblem was redrawn in flat red and white shades, while the “American was set in black, with the typeface simplified to a traditional, not slanted sans-serif. The new image looked more laconic and stylish than the previous two badges of the airline.
