The Greater Vancouver Zoo logo is a proof of the fact that not all zoos consider the logo as something serious and unchanging. The logo has no strict horizontal or vertical lines – the base is formed of a jagged rectangle. Such stylization emphasizes the main idea of this Zoo – it is not just a collection of animals, birds and reptiles housed in cages, but a safari park where pets live in the conditions close to natural ones.
Like in other European zoos, the Budapest Zoo logo contains a stylized image of the animal (according to archaeological research, elephants once inhabited the territory of today’s Budapest), as well as local palace architecture. In terms of the shape, the logo’s composition resembles a fire tongue. However, the heraldists consider it as an inverted crest (this idea is still popular in the design of logos).
