First held on January 1, 2011, the TicketCity Bowl was among the best-known NCAA post-season college football bowl games held in Texas. It was played under the original name only in 2011–2012 before being renamed the Heart of Dallas Bowl. As of 2019, it is known as the First Responder Bowl.
The TicketCity Bowl logo was inspired by the beauty of the white eagle. The bird was depicted with its wings spread wide over a blue plate. The plate housed the lettering “TicketCity Bowl” in white and yellow. The eagle was clutching a small brown football in its paws, which could be seen under the plate.
