Survivor is an American tv show, which was launched at the end of the 1990s, and by today has released 42 seasons with more than 600 episodes. One of the most famous series in television history.
The Survivor Tv show takes place on the desert island where two tribes compete for the grand prize of one million dollars. The participants in this project are brave people who risk everything to win a survival battle on an uninhabited island surrounded by wild jungle thickets and predatory animals.
Unfamiliar people of different ages and sports backgrounds go to the most remote corners of our planet to learn how to get food and water and build a shelter in extreme wilderness conditions away from civilization. Under the terms of the competition, participants in the TV show are divided into several teams and perform various tasks. Each week, the weakest player is sent home by popular vote.
According to the plan of the screenwriter, the participants should become helpers for each other. But those who like to live at someone else’s expense are ejected at the vote. Only one will win.
The protagonists of this show are people who are willing to go to great lengths. Among them are both ordinary workers from the factory, and those who are used to the attention – the stars, athletes, musicians, and other celebrities. However, everyone is equal on the island.
What is Survivor?
Survivor is the American version of the Swedish reality show program Expedition Robinson, the format of which has been implemented in many countries. The American adaptation has received many prestigious awards, including an Emmy.
In terms of visual identity, the American reality show Survivor has been very constant, and never actually changed the original badge, designed for the very first season of the show, but only slightly refined it and added some new letters to the horizontally-oriented oval of the logo.
All 42 seasons of the Survivor TV series have been using the same concept of the badge in various color combinations, depending on the location. Although, the primary version of the logo is executed in green, blue, and black schemes, with white lettering. The horizontally-oriented oval is enclosed into a thick black frame and crossed by a solid green banner with the bold white uppercase “Survivor” lettering on it. The body of the crest is horizontally divided into two halves: the tropical forest on green and black on top, and the water in blue and black on the bottom.
The bold uppercase lettering from the primary badge of the Survivor tv show is set in a custom designer typeface with the uneven contours of the letters and interesting geometry of the lines. The closest fonts to the one, used in this insignia, are, probably, Dynamic Duo Heavy, Neosim Shape, and Java Kick BTN Bold, but with most contours modified.
As for the color palette of the Survivor visual identity, it is bright and contrasting, consisting of green, blue, black, and white, a professional and modern combination of juicy solid shades, which brilliantly represents the essence of the show and its brutal and strong character.
