What is Southern Utah Thunderbirds?
The Southern Utah Thunderbirds, representing Southern Utah University, are a dynamic force in NCAA Division I athletics. Both the old and the current Southern Utah Thunderbirds logo feature a bird, yet there are quite a few differences between them.
On the old emblem, you can see an angled view of the eagle’s head with a lightning bold below. The lettering “SUU” in red is going across the middle of the design. The old emblem has more colors: in addition to red, white, and black (which can be seen on the current logo), there is also gold used for the beak.
On the 2019 logo version, the beak is white, there is no lettering, while the lightning bold turned by 90 degrees.
