Solingen Kellermann is a German company known as a manufacturer of professional instruments for manicure and pedicure, as well as scissors and knives. It is based in the city of Solingen. Solingen has been known as the “City of Blades” where fine swords, knives, scissors, and razors have been manufactured since the medieval times.
The company was started in 1927 in the German town Solingen. It’s a family business of the Kellermann family, who has ruled the company for generations. But even before the emergence in 1927, the Kellermann family owned several steel manufactories in the town, creating special blades for all purposes.
The Sollingen wordmark is just their name, written in an old-timey typographic font of a serif variation. The serifs are pretty miniscule, but the shapes give away an old classic design. The only unusual part is an extended curve beneath the letter ‘g’. It goes all the way to the back of the word, returns and ends in a hook-like tip (a reference to the blades made by the company). The letters are usually dark green or yellow.
