1972 – 2001

The original SkyWest logo, designed for the company the in 1970s, stayed with them for almost thirty years and became a basis for following redesigns. It was a solid red wordmark in a slanted geometric sans-serif typeface with diagonal cuts of the vertical bars. The lowercase “Y” was overlapping the uppercase “W”, adding sharpness to the simple composition.

2001 – 2018

The redesign of 2001 has switched the color palette of the SkyWest visual identity to dark red and blue, with the overlapping area having no white contouring. As for the “Airlines” tagline, it also kept its original font but changed the color from red to black.

2018 – now

In 2018 the white outline of the “Y” was brought back, while the main color of the inscription got changed to medium blue. The tagline is now written in the same shade as the main wordmark, which makes the whole logo look more balanced and professional.
