What is Peacock?
Peacock TV is the name of a streaming service, which was launched by NBCUniversal in 2020. Peacock TV offers NBC channels to watch live news and sports events. The On Demand section has hundreds of movies, series, and TV shows. Today the platform is available in several countries across the globe.

In terms of visual identity, Peacock TV is bright and progressive. The platform’s logo is quite minimalistic, but the right use of colors and shapes makes it look very stylish and modern.

2020 – Today

The logo for Peacock TV was designed in 2020, by the launch of the platform, which happened in July. The logo is composed of a bold lowercase wordmark, written in a custom sans-serif typeface with interesting details in some of the letters, and a graphical element, placed on the right from the lettering and formed by six solid dots, set vertically and colored in different shades. The first and the last characters of the inscription have their shapes modified, which adds uniqueness and distinction to a strict black composition.

Font and color

The lowercase lettering from the official logo of Peacock TV is set in a custom sans-serif typeface, which is called Peacock Sans. However, you can find commercial alternatives, as the type looks pretty close to Montreal Serial Bold and Monotype Harmonia Sans Bold, with some modifications. The most interesting thing in the Peacock wordmark is the sharp connections in the “P” and the “K”, which resemble a beak of a peacock.

As for the color palette of the Peacock TV visual identity, it is also based on the colorful Ness of a bird, after which the service was named. The simple geometric emblem is based on yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, and green. There is also a strong connection to the logo of the mother brand, NBC Universal, with its iconic bright peacock.
