Moroccanoil started over ten years ago as a single product based on argan oil. Today, it has grown into a full line of hair and body products.
While the Moroccanoil logo is basically pretty simple, it also manages to establish a symbolical connection with the products sold under this brand. How has this connection been created?
As we have already mentioned, the core ingredient of the products is the oil produced from the agran tree. The agran tree is endemic to Morocco (hence the name of the brand). The colors used in the logo seem to have been inspired by Morocco.
The teal is reminiscent of the ocean and (maybe) even the city of Chefchaouen with its blue buildings.
The orange “M” might have been inspired by the golden-orange sand dunes, the sandstone buildings, and Marrakech known as the red city of Morocco in reference to the color of its city walls.
