In recent years, the Hotjar service has become one of the most important and indispensable tools for any Internet marketer. The main task of the service is to increase conversions on the site, and it copes with this perfectly and continues to win the loyalty of a growing audience.
Launched in 2014, Hotjar helps to get data on user behavior and takes part in increasing project conversion. Already in the first days after the launch, the company attracted more than 20,000 users thanks to active marketing. In 2021, Hotjar was recognized as one of the leading services in EMEA. Currently, more than 350 thousand organizations use Hotjar for usability analysis.
Hotjar offers a wide range of features that allow you to visualize and analyze data about how people interact with your website. The service’s solutions are as relevant today as ever, as more and more people are hesitant to share personal information online, and Hotjar provides an easy way to truly understand your website visitors without making them fill out any special questionnaires.
Hotjar consists of several tools: dashboard, user site visit records, click map view, and feedback collection. On the site dashboard, you can customize the display of basic indicators – number of sessions, average user session duration, average pages viewed per session, bounce rate, top pages by views, and more. The heatmap of the site in Hotjar shows the number of clicks by visitors on a certain page.
What is Hotjar?
Hotjar is the name of a popular website analytics tool that not only allows you to analyze user behavior but also to get feedback and based on it to perform optimization to increase the website’s usability.
In terms of visual identity, Hotjar is quite consistent. Since the launch of the project, the team has been using a red and black color palette, which represents the service best. As for the graphics, the decorative elements of the logo were dramatically changed after the first redesign, held by the company, however, the laconic approach has stayed with the identity design.
The original Hotjar logo, introduced in 2014, was based on a bold and smooth lowercase wordmark in a modified sand-serif typeface, written in solid black characters against a white background and accompanied by a small red flame, placed above the vertical bar of the “I”.
In 2021 the Hotjar logo was significantly changed. The lowercase lettering was rewritten in a thinner and more distinctive sans-serif typeface, with the rounded dot above the “I”. As for the red flame, it was deleted from the composition, but the new emblem appeared — two delicate wavy lines in a coral shade of red were now drawn on the left from the black inscription.
The medium-weight lowercase lettering from the primary logo of Hotjar is set in a clean and modest sans-serif typeface, which looks pretty close to such commercial fonts as Konstanz or Gatter Sans, but with some visible modifications of the characters’ contours.
As for the color palette of the Hotjar visual identity, it is based on a combination of black (professionalism and confidence), red (passion and excellence), and white (transparency and reliability).
