Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida, sponsors 15 varsity teams. The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles logo has remained unchanged since 2002.
The emblem features the lettering “FGCU” in an artistic and creative type. Instead of a regular horizontal line, the team opted for a line with a noticeable upward direction. Also, the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles logo includes the head of an eagle, which is placed above the text. The palette combines cobalt blue with emerald green.
The men’s team has competed in the NCAA Division I Tournament three times and has played in the NCAA Division II Tournament one time.
The FGCU baseball team made its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2017. The university has three former baseball players who are now MLB pitchers.
While the Eagles are among America’s youngest men’s soccer programs, they are also quite successful. The men’s team has been to the NCAA Tournament three times since 2007. The women’s team has played in the NCAA Tournament six times.
