While the Eastern Washington Eagles logo features a very popular symbol seen in a variety of other logotypes, the designer has managed to make it look unique and create a clear link with the athletic program.
The current Eastern Washington Eagles logo, which was adopted in 2000, sports a red and black eagle in flight. You can see the letters “E” and “W” incorporated in its wings.
The men’s team has competed in two NCAA Tournaments and in one National Invitation Tournament. Their head coach is Shantay Legans. The women’s team has appeared in the NCAA Tournament only once. They have made the WNIT three times.
The Eagles compete in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision and belong to the Big Sky Conference. They have won one national championship in the FCS and 26 conference championships since 1901. Their home arena, Roos Field, is known as the only stadium in college football covered with a red surface.
