Meaning and history

CONALEP is a public institution, which means, it aims to give education and opportunities to everyone. The motto of the college is “Quality Education for Competitiveness”, which only emphasizes the main values of Colegio Nacional de Educación Profesional Técnica.

In terms of visual identity, the college has been pretty modest and conservative, using the same emblem for many years, and only switching the color and thickness of the logotype from time to time. The color palette has also changed some shades during the years, but the main motive — deep green, has always been there.

The CONALEP logo is composed of a bold abstract and minimalist emblem placed above a lowercase logotype, which can be written in different shades of green or black. The emblem also features green color, and in some versions is dark turquoise, while others boast a vivid grass-green shade. The volume of the graphical element varies too — there are options with a three-dimensional emblem, and a flat one.

So what is the CONALEP emblem? Is a smooth abstract symbol composed of two wave-like elements, which form something like a chain link. Two mirrored parts of the emblem are placed at a slight distance from each other, which makes the thick green lines look lighter and fresher.

As for the logotype, written in the lowercase of a traditional sans-serif typeface, it has its full-shaped letters slightly slanted and looks friendly and welcoming.
