Compass Airlines was an American regional airline with its headquarters in Fort Snelling, Hennepin County, Minnesota. It was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trans States Holdings. For the time being, it was a major airline through the United States. In 2020, they filed for bankruptcy.
The company was founded in 2006. They mostly controlled flights of other brands, including American Eagle and Delta. There were really no planes operated under the company’s own name. It was an operator of flights for other brands. The business was stopped by 2020, due to pandemic’s hit on travel popularity.
The Compass Airlines logo is simple yet eye-catching and unique. Both words of the company name feature simple sans-serif typefaces with slightly rounded tips. The lettering “Compass” is much bolder and larger. What adds a distinctive touch is the open ellipse on the left. While the ellipse is grey, it is paired with a bright red triangle, which makes the design better visible.
