What is Cletrac?
Cletrac is a company that specializes in the design and manufacture of tracked vehicles for various applications. They are known for producing durable and versatile machinery used in industries such as agriculture, construction, and military.
The original logo for the company was created in 1914 when the brand’s name was not shortened yet. The badge only featured one element — a stylized cursive “Cleveland Tractor” inscription set in a smooth and black solid line against a plain white background. The rounded characters of the title case wordmark looked very friendly and calming.
The official rename of the company to Cletrac was followed by the complete redesign of its visual identity in 1918. The new name of the brand was now written in the title case of a stylized handwritten font, in solid black, across the bright orange horizontally stretched oval medallion in a thin black outline. The badge looked very intense and eye-catching and stayed in use by the company for more than two decades.
The redesign of 1944 has made the Cletrac logo more complicated: the oval medallion with the wordmark was redrawn in a black-and-white color palette and placed on a classy heraldic shield, drawn in dark shades of red and green. The top part of the shield was executed in solid black and featured a red uppercase “Oliver” wordmark on it.
