The Certified Financial Planner is a non-profit certification program for financial planners founded in 1985. Basically, there are two emblems that can be used as the CFP logo: the plaque design and the flame design.
Today it is one of the most prestigious international certifications for workers in the financial sector.Certificates are issued by member organizations of the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB).
The certificate means that the specialist is a professional in the field of finance, he has higher education, at least 2 years of work experience, and he is constantly improving his educational level.
The CFP certificate is the equivalent of a license to practice financial management in an FPSB member country, which allows you to add the CFP designation to your signature, and makes the holder a member of the CFP.
Certification is in demand among financiers, auditors, accountants, investment management consultants, financial risk managers, analysts, and tax managers. The majority of applicants are residents of the USA, Canada, Australia, Western Europe, and East Asia.
What is CFP?
CFP is an abbreviation standing for the Certified Financial Planner, a certification standard, which appeared in the United States, and today is accepted in several more countries across the globe. CFP is managed by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, established in 1985.
The flame symbol contains three components: the ® sign, the “CFP” text in a clear serif font, and the flame itself. The flame is white. It consists of three elements placed in a semicircle shape against the dark blue background.
In addition to the two versions of the mark mentioned above, there is also a gold plaque certification mark. It has been created for professionals meeting the highest requirements in the industry. The CFP logo features several shades of gold. The palette helps to make the highlights and shadows that, in their turn, create a 3D effect.
The bold and elegant CFP lettering from the primary badge of the certificate is set in a heavy serif typeface with slightly extended uppercase characters. The closest fonts to the one, used in this insignia, are, probably, Times New Roman Small Text Std Bold, or Aviano Black but with some minor modifications of the letters’ contours.
As for the color palette of the CFP visual identity, it is based on a strict and strong combination of blue and black, which looks bright and confident on a plain white background. Blue here is a color of professionalism and reliability, while black emphasizes power and determination, fundamental approach, and excellence.
