The motto of the cruise company Carnival Cruise Line for sea cruises is “Let the Fun Begin”. The company calls its cruise ships Fun Ships because a lively atmosphere always prevails on board. On board every Carnival ship there are water parks, spa and fitness centers, sports and piano bars, as well as a wide variety of entertainment facilities for guests of all ages and tastes. During the ship’s stay, guests of the liner can explore the sights on shore, go diving or swimming, take a canoe or kayak ride, or play golf on the best courses in the world. The cruise company is also a member of the alliance “World’s Leading Cruise Lines”.

Meaning and history

The cruise company Carnival Cruise Lines Inc. was founded in 1972 and is the founder and largest cruise company of the Carnival Corporation & PLC concern. It all started when an unknown Tom Erison sent an old ship on the Miami-San Juan route, with fuel enough only for one way. Perseverance, enthusiasm, and belief in himself and Carnival Cruise Lines helped Erison become the owner of one of the largest cruise companies in the world within a few years. In 1994, Carnival Corporation was created, a corporation that today covers all segments of the cruise market. Until 2005, the company’s ships traveled mainly in North America, but since 2005, cruise routes have also begun to pass through Europe.

What is Carnival Cruise Line?
Carnival Cruise Lines is currently one of the largest cruise companies in the world. Back in 1987, the company received the award for The World’s Most Popular Cruise Line and still holds its position. The highest level of service, quality programs, excellent cuisines, and hundreds of entertainment options make the liner’s guests return on board again and again.

1972 – 2008

The logo features the brand’s name “Carnival” in bold, playful lettering. The first letter is capitalized but does not extend much above the rest. Flared serifs and high stroke contrast give it a unique look. The logo’s semi-circular shape framed with red is a depiction of the ship’s funnel. It is a nod to the classic Carnival ship design, where the funnel is a prominent feature of the vessel’s architecture. This logo was also featured in Fun Ship Freddy and for Mardi Gras in 2021.

2008 – 2018

The updated logo features a new funnel shape, which looks like a whale’s tail. Its color palette, though, has been preserved. The design can also be seen drawn on the cruise line’s ships and, obviously, is part of the ship’s mechanics. The funnel has a shiny finish that perfectly represents the metal that is used to manufacture funnels. It also gives the logo a touch of luxury, where everything is polished and perfect.

2018 – Today

The logo featuring a red, blue, and white funnel has become synonymous with cruise vacations, instantly recognizable by millions around the world. In this version, the funnel has been slightly modified. Otherwise, the logo stayed the same.

The logo features a sophisticated font with flared serifs. The inscription can be replicated using a publicly available font called Americana EF ExtraBold font. The font choice gave the logo a luxurious and high-end look that surely lures in people.
