The original logo of the air carrier from Azerbaijan was created in 1992 and featured an elegant composition with a bright blue stylized bird set on a dark-gold roundel in a blue outline. The “Azal” lettering was written in blue serif capitals in the upper right part of the roundel.
The redesign of 2000 has completely changed the color palette of the Azal logo, with the roundel getting white and gaining a sky-blue outline. The color of the outline was supported by the color of the lettering. Which was rewritten in a more traditional serif font above the stylized wing in the middle of the composition, drawn in three colorful strokes — blue, red, and green.
In 2015 the name of the company was changed to Azerbaijan Airlines, and the logo was redesigned. The new concept is built around the enlarged lettering in two levels of a stylized sans-serif typeface, placed under a minimalistic yet very elegant emblem with the enlarged blue wing inscribed into a circular frame in a darker shade.
