AVerMedia is a Taiwanese private company specialized in video technology products. It was founded in Taipei in January 1990 by Michael Kuo, an electronics engineer, who managed to bring together a team of highly qualified technicians. The company was rapidly developing and by 2000 became one of the world top producers of digital imaging goods with its branches in the USA, United Kingdom, China, Germany and Spain. Today AVerMedia Technologies produces multimedia presentation equipment, including TV-tuners, cameras, video surveillance equipment, digital converters, etc.

Meaning and history

At the outset, the AVerMedia logo was very simple and consisted of the name of the brand. The wordmark was made in a special font resembling the commercial Codec Cold Logo Italic with slightly changed graphics. The colour of the inscription was black except for the letter “I”, the point of which was in scarlet red.

Later, a more sophisticated logotype was developed. Now an emblem was added to the wordmark taken from the previous logo. The new emblem depicted a circle made up of six triangles with elongated sharp corners, symbolizing petals of the camera aperture. The emblem was made in scarlet red while the brand name had the same colours as before. The emblem could be placed above the wordmark or on the same line to the left of the brand name. Another version had the emblem in cobalt blue.

The meaning of the logo of the company is associated with its commitment to corporate social responsibility in its activities around the world; its adherence to the significance of companies’ social responsibility which should accompany is business advancement.

In 2008 from AVerMedia Technologies was separated an affiliated firm, AVerMedia Information, Inc. which was specializing in the development and production of video surveillance and security systems.  In 2011 the name of the company was changed to AVer Information, Inc. A new logotype was designed for the new Aver brand. It was just the name, “AVer” in dark Aegean blue colour. The letter “e” had special graphics, it was in scarlet red and made in the form of a ball which was partially overlapping the letters “V” and “r”. The dark blue colour emphasized the company’s principles of integrity, uprightness and down-to-earth corporate culture. The red “e” letter marked the firm’s people-oriented innovative approach.
